Not really. By this stage in its maturation, the SROP is primarily an in-person research training and career discovery program. Furthermore, we can only pay stipends to people completing remote work from somewhere in Ontario, and only a limited set of our faculty members can accommodate remote collaboration.
If this situation might apply to you, then we will ask you about it at the time of admissions, after we make our admissions decisions. In this way, this situation would not affect our admissions decisions in any way.
For your information, the Professional Development sessions are held through Zoom, in part because we are hosting amazing speakers from many different universities and also because the research labs at the University of Toronto are distributed across multiple sites (i.e., making it infeasible for some students to travel to one location for the Professional Development Sessions).
