If students do not live within a commutable distance to Toronto, then there are two housing options for the time of the SROP: you can arrange housing in university residences through the program or you can arrange your own housing.
If you choose to arrange housing through the program, then the stipend you receive for the SROP will be $4565.60 and you will additionally receive Summer Housing for the 8 weeks of the program ($2500 value) in Victoria University’s (Vic) Summer Residences. Vic’s Summer Residences are located on the St. George campus of the University of Toronto.
If you would like to arrange for your own housing during the time you are in the SROP, then you will receive the full stipend.
If you do not live in a commutable distance of Toronto, then we will cover or subsidize your travel to and from Toronto for up to $1000. We will subsidize travel of out-of-town students whether or not you arrange summer housing through the program.
What if i am a an international student studying is Russia and would want to do one of the in-person projects and am willing to move to Toronto for the time of the SROP , will my travel be covered ?
Travel expenses are reimbursed up to a certain amount, which is $1000 CAD.
